    m20 Radiator options

    Hi guys,

I'm wondering if anyone had swap a radiator from e36 or e34 into an e30 m20, the only purpose of this is that i want to through out that water tank, and keep it's place free ...

What do i need? Any downsides? Advice?

    Thanks in advance

E36 radiators will fit, E34 will not.

You can use an E36 radiator on cars with the late cooling system (expansion tank on the left side of the engine bay. But I don't know if you could use the E36 expansion tank.

If you have an early car and need the space that the expansion tank occupies on the right side of the engine bay you can change to the late water pump, add the crossover pipe, install the late expansion tank on the left side, and use the late or E36 radiator. The inverse of that frees up the space on the left side of the engine bay. If you need the space on both sides, use the early water pump and radiator and relocate the expansion tank to the empty spot (where a battery could mount) on the right rear of the engine bay.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
