    Idle Issue. Help PLEASE

I bought my car from a guy that said it needed a new ICV. He had the hose that goes from the ICV to the intake clamped. He said he did that so it wouldn't rev the motor high. Since the hose was clamped the car would always die and what not, obviously. I replaced the hose and ICV and now it will just sit at like 2500rpm I'm guessing like it did before he clamped it. So I guess the ICV wasn't the problem to begin with.

Any ideas? I was thinking possibly the throttle position sensor.

I'm thinking intake leaks. Have a shop run a smoke test.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Ok I found out the issue. Fuse number 9 was blown. It should be a 15A fuse in there. I put one in there and it blew after a couple of minutes and the revs started to go back up to 3,000. I put a 30A in there and so far so good...

Might want to find the source of excess current draw before you melt down your wires. When the engineer puts a 15 amp fuse in there, they don't typically size the wiring to handle a whole lot more than that, since the fuse should blow to protect the wires.

Any ideas on where to start?

Also...I did not disconnect the battery and reset the ECU. Could that be the issue?

Does it hold at high RPM or does the idle surge up and down? Constant high idle usually isn't caused by ICV.

Before the fuse blows it's fine. Then after it blows the rpm shoots up and stays at 3,000.

Well it's fuse number 9. I tried to find the ground today which I read it was in between the firewall and the head. I couldn't find it from under the hood since it's such a tight squeeze.

Maybe its a circuit controlling the ICV.

                        Im going to say TPS

do a continuity check on the far left pin and middle pin with throttle closed

I just need a multimeter for that right?

                            mhmmm

set it to continuity testing with the audible indicator if it has it(most do).

I checked the TPS and it was bad. So I replaced it. Still having the same issue.
