    Wiring!!!!

So I have an 86' 325 and I pulled the motor and now running a 87' 325is motor harness and ecu. I am not getting any spark from the coil. My guess is my dme is not getting power. I have searched for days now on a clear way to change the wire and some people say graph in the old harness, but then don't say what to graph in. So what I am asking is for so clear help on what to do. Just seems I am not finding the right posts for my application. What I need to know is what wire do I need to either link together or pull from the old harness to make the new harness work. It does turn over just no spark. I would really appreciate the help to guide me in the right direction.

    Wow...hell of a question for 1st post!

    First off, welcome to R3V.

Let me ask you this: how do you know you have no power at the DME? Does your Check Engine light come on when you turn the key on? Does your fuel pump run? How do you know for certain the the CPS and CID plugs aren't reversed?

This is R3V, we will either get your shit running or we won't.

    GL!

Thx. I am taking kind of a wild guess on the dme. The car turns over and i made sure to flip the sensor because i hear that could be a reason. I read a lot on combining wires together. I just didnt want to start mixing wires up and hook something up wrong. The old harness had a black box with a green stripe that seemed to go to the coil. I check if i was getting spark and nothing was happening. Just trying to get the wiring straight. I did my research before I jumped out and asked.

I have not Splice yet. I think he used an later model and the pins are not the same. That my big question is what wires to splice. Because the pins dont match up.

Is it pluged in? I had a problem like this a while back. didnt think the box was needed so I left it in the garage. could not figure out why car had no spark. plugged in the box and it started first try. It should have a 2 pin connector and a ground wire.

The box has a almost looks like the old style c101 connector but I have the circle plug by the fuse box and the box inside the glovebox. I am so confused on what to do. I know I need to connect some wires I just don't know where to start and which ones to put together. I know there is that box but idk if I have to take part of the old harness to make the new one to work.

Is the three wire connector from the engine harness near the DME connected to the matching plug from the car? That provides the START signal to the DME.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
