    M20B25 conversion to b27/b28/b29 possibilities

    Hello guys,

I own a '87 euro 325i and am planning to rebuild it from scratch and putting in another crankshaft and connecting-rods in to increase the displacement. The engine runs perfectly at the moment but already has 190760 miles on the original pistons, only the head should already have had a revision.

I have already read several topics of people who have done the same thing but I want to know al the various possibilities of parts.

    Some I know already:

    - using the Eta crankshaft and connecting rods with the original 325i head. Since i have the non-cat it has the higher compression ratio, will this cause no problems?

    - using an m55 crankshaft and rods. This will make it a 2.8 but i guess this isn't as plug and play as the Eta-conversion

    - using a 324td crank and rods. Don't know much about this

What are the other possibilities? And what does each one demand as adjustments?

I'm gonna do this at a tuning company of friends of mine, where we can test on the dyno and make our own chip and exhaust. If possible (financially + finding the parts) i would also put a lighter flywheel on it, another camshaft and a MAF-sensor instead of the original meter.

Hope to find a lot of answers!

    Thanks already,

    chears
