    No power to injectors!

So I swapped heads from my 91' 5mt to my 89' auto and I'm having trouble getting the 89' to run. It's getting spark but the injectors are not powering on. I've checked fuses, swapped ECUs, swapped FPR, checked the circle connector and everything is plugged in properly. It cranks smooth it just doesn't get fuel. Also the fuel gauge doesnt budge even though fuel is in the tank. Anyone have suggestions?

Are you sure the c191 connector is getting good connection i had the same problem when i redid the head on my e30 injectors were not getting power turned out to be the c191 connector it gets so corroded and the wires start to break off if you pull the black boot off of it there may be a wire loose. I would definitely check it again.

The c191 seems fine, there is no corrosion and the wires are very flexible. I'm still stumped, I don't really see what else could be causing this.

Yes I believe that's what the c191 connector is. The check engine light is on at accessory. Is the engine oil light supposed to be lit on the check panel? Car is topped off at normal level.

The oil light should not be lit up...sometimes it will take a few minutes of driving for the light to turn off.

Are you sure the connector is ok? Is it screwed all the way in? I always have trouble getting it to screw on.

Yes the connector is twisted until it clicks. And I figure the oil light will go off once it starts and circulates the oil around and into the head. I just know I'm not getting fuel because the injectors won't click and the spark plugs don't smell of fuel after many cranks.

Try a noid light and see what it reads ? Maybe that will help you diagnose the problem

Are you getting power to your fuel pump, have you checked your relays?

Checked all the relays and wiggled all connections and finally got the injectors powered on, etc. So now it starts but won't hold idle, runs rough and dies when I let off the gas. One problem solved, more to go!

I suspect that you have intake leaks.

Not really seeing anything that would cause a intake or vacuum leak. Everything is secure and most hoses are new. Also the stomp test only shows 1444 which is no fault. Hmmm... Almost there lol!

Have a shop run a smoke test to find the leaks.

Does the car even attempt to fire or does it sound like it is just cranking to no avail? How's fuel pressure?

I will do a smoke test a little later. The car cranks and fires on first try now. It barely holds idle and misfires causing the car to shake with anything under 1500 rpm. I'm hoping I don't have headgasket issues...
