    Cranking but no start.. HELP!

So I finally was able to turn the key! It cranks and cranks no start though

so I check the spark/fuel/ etc

I thought I just had the lines switched so I pulled them off and tried again and the lines are still dry as fuck. The relay is good as I switched it out a few times and it clicks and what not so seems like it is good

the pump in the tank doesnt make any noise though, so that would mean its not activating right? I have done a million things to e30's but to be honest I have never had a bad fuel issue in any of my cars. This car drove fine before I pulled the engine a few years back. So could the pump have gone bad from just sitting around? How can I tell if the pump is bad? just swap a different pump in?

Any input? I tried everything I could think of tonight. To late to hit up anyone for help on a week night

    any thoughts?

    thanks

Jump the fuel pump relay, the pump should buzz. Then start car.

its a 1990 325i.. stock engine/original engine. I pulled the engine a long time ago because my brother cracked the pan and I was going to swap a new m20 (built) into its place. life caught up yada yada and now put same engine back

Is there spark when cranking? If not the DME isn't running or isn't getting timing data from the engine, in which case the pump won't run. A common mistake is to swap the Cylinder ID & CPS connectors. If there is spark, check fuse 11.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
