    1990 BMW 525i E34 DOHC (Fits: BMW 325iX) !?

i read that there are only 2 ways to get DOHC on a M20 motor

    1) a rare Racing Dynamic one out in the wild (5 produced) but they were released the same time as BMW was coming out with them so they seized production.

    2) using a ?~70s era 2002 head ?

isnt this EBAY auction claiming that a 1990 BMW 525i E34 (dohc?) (Fits: BMW 325iX) !?

correct me if im wrong - however there is

*** NO *** (12/or/24v) DOHC cylinder head that will fit on the M20

and this is because all are/were engine chain driven .

e34 525i's used m20s through mid 1990. So yes, they are right.

DOHC IS chain driven. It will not bolt up. Up to mid 1990 e34s used the same single cam m20 as the e30 did.

Well, that's not a DOHC head. It would be the later, M50 e34s that were DOHC.

First the e34 iX trans thread, now this.

Maybe that diagram shows a TOHC head, and we just don't understand it in three dimensions?

                  Yeah, pants-on-head status.
