Oh no!!! A puff of smoke

well, took the eta for her first spirited drive in a while today and while winding out 2nd gear around 5000rpm's i noticed some white smoke in the mirror. please keep in mind that i don't beat her and she does have in the neighborhood of 370,00 on the clock. she blows absolutly no smoke under general driving conditions and has been using about a quart every 3,000.
my question to you guys is rings?? valve seats?? or?? the car runs strong and i wana see just how far she'll go before she dies.

if its white smoke then that means cracked head, or bad head gasket. Rungs or valve seals would be blue/black smoke.

Or it could just be condensation, how hot was it when you saw the smoke?

That only means the any leak from a crack or head gasket failure isn't between an oil and coolant passage.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Beside water vapor on a cold day, white smoke can only mean that your engine is burning coolant. It is time to check your HG and head for sign of damage.

              This^

How long has it been since a new head gasket was changed? With those miles the gasket would be very hard from the cycles. A simple refresh would take a weekend for most noobs(not saying you are). Or a few years if you are pantless.

I am guessing a small leak in the gasket. If the head is cracked I have a 885 ready to be installed, let me know if you need one <3

I may be in need of the 885. I'll be pulling my head over the next couple days, praying for a bad HG, but I have no coolant in the oil, and I'm getting condensation out of the tailpipe. Yeah it's cold in Nebraska but it continually does it once it reaches operating temp.

Sorry, not trying to hijack your thread.
