engine turning off i need help

ok so today i notice that my drive way had oil stains when i got home from work so i decide to look under the hood. i not that a line under the intake manifold was disconected so i plugged it in. but right now its tuning off on me. before connecting this line my car was running fine im unsure on how long its been disconected for but i was having no issues till connecting it. i tried looking up some diagrams on real oem to try and find out what this part is but came up with nothing. can someone please help me identify this part and help solve my issue

The circled object in the first picture is the evaporative control valve. Having the hose connected or not will make no difference in how the engine runs if the valve is good. The more likely case is that you disturbed something else (like the intake boot) when connecting the hose.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Most likely is an inoperative ECV.
