HELP! Engine wont exceed 1500 RPMs!

Alright so i was drivin to the train station yesterday when my car decided to take a shit. i parked my car when i forgot i had to get gas (broken gas gauge) so i started up my car again and went to pull away but i couldnt get over 1500 RPMs. it was almost like my rev limiter was at 1500. I found a couple people that had this problem and they said their TPS was bad so i unplugged my TPS and my revs shot up to 1800 in idle, so i plugged it back in because i know it works. I also tested my O2 sensor but that was fine too so now im gonna test my AFM. Anyone have any ideas whats goin on? no check engine light is on either.

Check the rail fuel pressure, if low sufficient fuel may not be delivered when the engine is under load.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Sorry I forgot to mention, if I unplug my TPS then I can rev my engine up normal but it falls back to idle reeeeeaaally slow. So I'm pretty sure it's not a fuel problem. I'm almost positive it's a sensor and computer related. I just don't know which one and how to tell

Yeah, but the engine isn't under load then and doesn't require much fuel.

Other possibilities are problems with the ignition components, the timing reference sensor(s), the AFM, or the DME.

You can try to disconnect the negative battery cable for at least ten minutes to reset everything then try to run the car again.

Power only needs to be removed from the DME for seconds (15 is plenty) for a reset.

Hey guys i figured it out. So i did a bit of research on other threads and figured out it was my TPS. I just replaced my TPS a few months ago so i knew it didnt take a shit but something was takin a shit on it. so i took apart my throttle body and got the TPS off and realized it had more water inside of it than my swimming pool. So, out came my mother's hair dryer and a few cotton swabs and in about 10 minutes in was dry. I tested each terminal and it still worked so i reinstalled it. I also figured out that the water was coolant (blue tinted water) and it was leaking from the coolant hoses on the side off the throttle body, drop by drop, into the intake and slowly filling up my TPS. This seems to be a common problem wheather its oil, rain, or coolant leaking into the TPS and freaking it out. When filled up with water, the TPS thinks the throttle is always closed, so it never tells the AFM/computer to supply more fuel, thats why it would cut out at around 1500 RPMs (idle limit)
