Another, "Whats that rubbing sound?"

Hey, just pulled my alternator and replaced the bearings on it and put a new alternator belt on. I noticed the case was a little miss aligned (Picture down below). Threw everything back together and started it up. Now keep in mind there was already some sort of rubbing-ish sounds from the front but nothing loud I assumed it was the alternator because the upper bushings melted hence why I replaced them. Now I am getting a bit louder of a rubbing sound, I am almost certain its from the timing belt hitting the case, but can not be to sure.

Does anyone know if putting a new alternator belt on could cause a little bit of noise?

Could the case of the timing belt being misaligned be causing the noise?

I can upload a video of the sound if that would help at all.

With the engine cold, remove the alternator/fan belt, and see if the noise is still present. You can run a cold engine for a minute or so without the water pump.

Alright, took of the v-belt (was a bitch)

Sound wasn't there anymore, so that would mean its one of the pulleys not aligned?

one of the first things you said was the case is misaligned.. a crooked case can misalign everything, causing belt rub.
