    M20 with m42 radiator Help!

I swapped an m20 into my 318is (you thought I was going to say "I swapped an m42 radiator into my 325" didn't you?) I kept the m42 rad and was looking to upgrade my crappy 12" fan to a Spal 16" fan.

Anyone know of fitment issues with that combo, also how the fan mount, what connector it comes with, I plan to control it with my Mega Squirt.

In my opinion that fan will be marginal (or inadequate) in 90F or greater. Here in the south I've found a 16" 2300cfm fan to about right. You could probably get away with a 2000cfm further north.

The best will be a pusher fan in a shroud mounted in front of the radiator. But if the car has A/C you'll have to use a puller mounted behind the radiator. Do not use any sort of through the radiator mounts. They can eat holes in the fin tubes. For best efficiency the fan should be no more than 3/32" off the radiator fins.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I'm working with very little space, my inter cooler is in the front and almost no room between the motor and radiator. I wanted a good high cfm fan, but I figured the spal one will do.

A turbo? You definitely want the highest flow fan you can manage to squeeze in.

This was my old set up but still limited space. Spal was the lowest profile fan that I could find with the highest cfm for the size.
