I had a bad experience with a Laso M20 oil pump bought recently, I just want to know if I am the only one with this issue or is it just plain bad luck. I believe Laso is OEM provider, please correct me if am mistaken.
Symptoms: finishing a M20B27 stroker project I decided to buy a brand new oil pump. When we first started the engine pressure was steady at 60+ psi. Then when the engine is hot the pressure goes completely down. My mechanic suspected of a faulty relief valve.
The mechanic who installed it has experience assembling M20's, however is there a possibility that he might damage it while installing it? What method/practices can cause damage to the pump?
Allow me to share images of the failure:
Notice the pin off center:

And here the pin removed, notice the wear where the light is shining, causing the pin to lean/incline to one side instead of being centered.

Appreciate your thoughts on this issue.
Currently I am refurbishing the oil pump, as per my mechanic it can work that way as his has done it in the past. If buying a new pump is the best advice please let me know. Furthermore I am installing an oil pressure gauge to monitor the pressure constantly instead of just relying on the instruments feared oil light.
