My E30 has been sitting in the garage all winter. When i went to start it this weekend I had a bad fuel leak coming from the part circled in red. Can someone please tell me what that part is / what it does?
It's a pressure damper for your fuel system, presumably there to even out flow to the cold start injector. You don't need it, I've removed a leaking one with no bad effects, and my L-Jet engine doesn't have one there but does fine.

thanks for the quick reply! so replacing that fuel line section and leaving out the pressure damper won't affect anything?
I'd be surprised if it did.. if the damper is leaking, it probably hasn't been doing much for a few years already. At most, cold-start idle might get more rough.
