E30 m20 making noise at idle with oil pressure light

So I recently noticed when my motor was up to temp but maybe a little hot because the system was being bled , and the oil pressure light would go bright on , at very low idle , and if I mess with the idle the idle with adjust and the light will go off , but when I went out side and popped the hood I could hear like some sort of faint noise kinda near the front of the engine possible oil pump maybe, this noise only happens at very low idle but I didn't like the noise this is on a freshly rebuilt m20 that I'm 100% sure was built correctly and has 40 miles On it but I'm reusing a oil pump and prv the motor was hot when this was happening , I'm running valvoline vr1 30 and a mahle filter , I have 5 quarts of 40W vr1 and a Bosch filter ready for it as well.
I got the temp gauge to a little over half , jumping to 3/4 and I rushed it slowly to my garage and I pulled the oil cap and thick white smoke came out . none came out of exhaust , I think it was burning oil , the smoke nearly scared the shit out of me . I put my hand on the valve cover for 3-4 seconds and had to remove it , I was just running distilled water at the time , and it looks dark upon inspection could be from the dirty block but it smells like coolant and not oil but could have some sort of minimal trace of oil , but maybe just slippery I don't know .
And I had a gallon of blue BMW mixed 50/50 and I drained most of it and filled with water upon finding another problem causing me to remove the radiator , so the darkish color could be just from residual coolant and , the expansion tank only smells of coolant ,
my oil dipstick doesn't like to stay tight its loose it maybe causing vacuum leak , causing low idle
I'm going to inspect the car tomorrow drain the water and the replace it with 50/50 BMW coolant and distilled . All of this going to be done after a compression test if I come out with good compression I'm going to get it bleed properly ,
Any one have any advice I need help as I've been kinda on my own for this for a while

Info on how the car drives , when it's cold I have to sometimes rev it and hold the rev them let off the clutch but as soon as it starts to rev correctly it doesn't surge or die out and it sometimes hesitates upon take off but I think it's do a kinking rubber fuel line on the rear fuel filter or the little clear fuel filter I have up in the engine bay , it may be to small restricting it (little orielly filter) i Had the rear fuel filter zip tied up and I kinked the line I cut the tie and the stuttering stopped car runs really good till it starts to get hot I haven't taken over 3500rpm
Also oil pressure light turns on when taking off in first when revs are low when engine is hot like sounds like its cutting out

Running VR1 30 weight and a mahle filter

Check out Cronopolous' thread, he had to replace the oil pump/valve IIRC. I would assume old oil pump to be the first thing to attend to, and the valve while you are in there.
