    another injector question

hi guys, i did a diy cleaning for my stock injectors last mid 2011 using carb cleaner and changed o-rings, filters and pintle caps. my car runs great and no issues so far aside from 12mpg gas consumption due to heavy traffic and such. although, i haven`t adjusted my valves yet and probably will do it this weekend along with compression test. cap and rotor changed by PO, spark plugs and wires changed last mid 2011.

i read about upgrading injectors to 17lbs which increase fuel mileage for daily driver car.

    so, my question are:
    1) is upgrading to 17lbs injectors will benefit me in the long run in terms of increase fuel mileage?
    2) or keep it stock and chip it since im planning to get one anyway? and this will achieve same result as in #1?

    suggestions are greatly appreciated...

While there are folks that claim to see an improvement in fuel mileage after installing 17lb injectors (because of a better spray pattern), I'm a bit skeptical of that effect. I suspect the more likely case is that they replaced a set of 14lb injectors that needed cleaning with a cleaner set of 17lb injectors and that is where most of the fuel mileage increase came from.

I would not expect a chip to significantly improve fuel mileage since it's primary purpose is to increase power.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Thanks Jim, that's what i read too, people got better mileage using 17lbs + markd. I guess it wouldn't hurt the car if i try.
