Metal found on magnetic sump plug, what is it??

right.. so anyway i was removing a bunch of stuff to test fit my turbo manifold and what little i have made of a downpipe so far and i needed to remove the oil filter/housing and oil cooler lines to fit the turbo mani. so i pop out the drain plug to drain the oil from the engine and am greeted by this stuck to the magnet on the drain plug.. can anyone identify what it is/what its from so i can figure out how much of a setback this is going to be for my turbo build.







it looks like it had been there for a bit as there was some black oil sludge over the magnet and this peice. i havent noticed any changes in the running of the engine and i am anal about noticing noises/changes in feel, etc.

looking at it i dont really think its a peice of a rocker.. that was my first thought as 2 rockers broke on me years ago after i first bought the car and the magnetic sump plug was only installed maybe 2 oil changes ago.. last oil change there was nothing out of the ordinary on the magnetic plug.

it looks almost like the edge of the cap on the connecting rod has snapped off, or even a bit above the cap. Just because it has that chamfered edge.

been looking at loads of pics of the bottom end and cam/rocker area and i cant really see anything it could be other than a bit of a pad from a rocker.. possibly one of the old ones that broke years ago judging by the wear on the peice, dont think the new ones i put in back in like 2009 would have this much wear on them yet. gonna have a look at the rockers and see if this piece is the right size/shape.. cant see anything else that looks like it.
