    engine ground issue

I rebuilt the top end of the motor; I cleaned the ground going to the oil pan but I powder coated the pan. Also cleaned the contact to the body. Car is live but when I turn the ign to start I get nothing. So I used a booster pack to ground it it and car started immediately. I know the battery is good because it's brand new and did a load test.

question: how many grounds are there for the engine?

    any help would be great!

There is only one hard ground for the engine and that is the strap from the pan to the chassis on the left front of engine. If you had the pan powder coated, that ground path may not be good. Try cleaning and using one of the extra threaded holes in block as a ground point.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
