    M20 = Dead ( Did I kill it? )

    So while doing some spirited driving today, I am pretty sure my engine is toast.

    I have a few theories with what is wrong.

    Spun a Bearing.
    Blown Clutch.
    Blown Rocker.
    (Possible Tranny? would the car turn over if the tranny was blown? also the car still goes into every gear fine)

    The Story - Dropped clutch @ around 5k and it grabbed, went threw 1st and 2nd gear WOT then..... BANG in the middle of shifting to 3rd! After the loud bang the engine stopped immediately and rolled to a stop.

    There was NO oil or coolant as signs of throwing a rod.

    When I turn the key to try and start I hear a grinding noise and the FAN spins nothing else....

    Where should I start? anybody ever kill there e30 like this?

    Thanks In advance, I searched for about 2 hours and could not find anything. sorry if this has been covered already.

      I think its the Mech, I dont remember ill have to double check it. nothing turns motor wise that I can see ( when i try to crank the engine, it screams at me. thats what makes me think I spun a bearing.

        Possibly timing belt, pull the oil cap have someone crank it over and see if the cam turns.

            HUH, 5K CLUTCH DUMP?

            Ya there is no shock load or anything.

              Isn't 5k unnecessary for a clutch dump anyway? haha Not trying to be hateful but if you were trying to launch 2500-3500 is a better range....

              Probably lost the timing if the belt hasn't been changed, but even with that the engine usually still turns over, maybe you broke a piston Rod and now its wedged in the cylinder wall or something.

              Also, when trying to start, pull the fuel and spark fuses so that you are not making any fires or pouring fuel into the cylinders or anything.... We don't need any toasted e30s
