Just bought an 87 325is. Turns over but no start

    +1. This was my first thought reading the original post, you've got the wrong main relay. Also, +1 on doing some tests before just throwing new parts at the problem, gl.

    Edit; I'd be pretty leery of firing up an m20 with a timing belt that hasn't moved in 3 years, seems like asking for trouble to me...

      Sound like what I had when I bought a dead 87 325is. End being the external fuel pump. I replaced it and it fire right up.
