Smoke test showed smoke on ICV

    Hi,

I finally got to put my DIY Smoke tester to the test. I saw a leak towards the firewall side of the valve cover. Trying to remediate some of the leak I tightened the valve cover which - to my surprise - did accept tightening at all screws.

The other place I managed to see the smoke leak was near the electrical harness connector on the ICV. Is this a common place for a leak? Is my ICV going south? Will silicone rtv help and if so, where do I apply it? While there I took it off and cleaned with throttle cleaner - which I had done not too long ago.

Thanks for any light you can share.

If smoke is leaking out of the ICV where the connector is, the ICV is worn and leaking. Replacing it with a new part would be the preferred fix.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

FYI I also had a smoke test reveal an intake leak at the ICV plug.
