    325e turbocharging question

Ive been trying to get info on this and had no luck. All i can find info is on how to turbocharge the 325i or swaping head, etc etc from the 325i to the 325e.
Now my question is, can the 325e be supercharged or is deffinitely a no? and if it can be donde, whats the approach with ecu etc?
thanks in advance. Mine is a 1985 325e.

It can be done, but is not worth it when its simple enough to swap a head and run it on a PNP megasquirt setup. main problem with the 325e is finding engine management, you could always wire up your own megasquirt but in my opinion its just easier to do the head swap.

There have been a few eta turbo projects but most people agree that it's a better idea to use the I top end and motronic 1.3 setup because not only will it make more power but will make things easier IMO

The mechanicals of adding forced induction to an M20B27 are exactly the same as for an M20B25 (or a budget stroker). In either case the major problem is getting the tune right. The cheap way involves using an M20B25 DME. In which case turning the ETA into a budget stroker with an M20B25 head, intake, DME, etc., is the path of least resistance. But the right way is a standalone engine management system like a MegaSquirt. Using an MS makes the effort the same for either path, but if you don't do a budget stroker the restricted rpm range will limit what the result can do.

There is no cheap, easy, solution.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
