Lack of low end RPM throttle response

    Hey R3V.

Recently I've been having some issues with my M20, I seem to not get any response from the throttle when I'm coming out of idle or below 1000 rpm. Almost like there's a dead spot and that's pretty dangerous for in-town driving.

    any ideas?

That is most commonly caused be intake leaks, which a smoke test will find. But it could be a bad spot in the AFM's resistance trace.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

what's best to use for testing? I've seen people suggest testing it in way too many ways.

Have a shop do a smoke test for you. Make sure that both intake and exhaust are plugged and smoke is kept between 2-4 psi.
