Replacing the Vacuum Control: Need Help

My check valve control unit attached to the intake is very old and rubbers are brittle. I need to know if this is just a straightforward replacement or do I need to watch out for anything special as it will be a source of vacuum leaks. I already have the parts available and have one concern about a small tube at the bottom of the check control valve as shown:

I didn't see anything on the Bentley and would appreciate some help. Thanks!

Attach a short piece of hose to the nipple and plug the other end of the hose.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Thanks Jim. I just did that. I found a small hose (smaller than the vacuum hose from FPR to intake), and it fit snugly. Plugged the other end with a small screw & put some gasket sealer. Placed hose clamps on all ends to avoid possible vacuum leaks. Thanks!

The old hoses were a pain to remove as the rubber burnt and stuck to the male ends of the intake. I had to cut the hose thru the middle, and pry it out in hard, gooey little pieces, it just disintegrated. What a mess. I just hope that none of those little pieces went into the intake holes... or I wouldn't know what to expect.
