    Universal Freeze Plug?

So Im unsuccessfully trying to install a freeze plug in the block of my car (with the engine in mind you) and I run across this jem.
    http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...0290&ppt=C0142

Now, the replacement is 45mm and the part description says it expands out to 1 7/8 in. (if my maths not retarded thats somewhere around 47mm)

Has anyone had any experience with these? Any Ideas with the freeze plug thats already half pressed into my block now? I'm getting sick of walking and need to get my ride on the road like now.

Yes that plug is 44-47mm, I have never used one as a freeze plug though. Why can't you used a standard Metal freeze plug?

I can't get the brass one to seat properly with the engine in the car. I thought I'd try this thing (unless someone had already tried it and said it was shit) or ill try and drop the exhaust and header to see if that gives me anymore room.

It's worth a shot I guess, I actually work for Dorman the company that makes that plug so let me know how it goes.
