My m20

I just picked up this car last Saturday and I'm pleased for the most part, I have to overhaul the suspension and fix a couple of leaks. Here is a video i took after work i wonder if that ticking could be from the valves thinking about doing an adjustment soon.

& yeah that sounds like some seriously out of spec valves. Theres lots of us that can help you out need be.

finished going through my entire m20 i bought too, sounded like yours. sounds healthy, just needs a little valve adjustment like you said.

I live in Fremont which area do you live? I hope it's close haha but i doubt it, Yeah about the valves i need to get the specs and get it done same time i will knock out the vcg and change the spark plugs. The timing belt was worked on in 2011 i have a stack of receipts from the previous owner, and are these m20's really bullet proof that's what a lot of people are saying about them on various forums, the odometer was broke when i bought it and stopped at 194k in 2011 which to my calculations the car should have well beyond 250,000 miles on it i just hopes this baby stays alive!
