and is that normal? it says my build date is 09/86 shouldn't it have it? what is that ground for?

I'm about to put a harness out of an 89 325i into my 1/86 build date 325es for my 2.7i build. I was under the impression that I only had to wire in the tachometer and econometer signals from the connection by the dme.

So I will have to wire in the DME start signal as well? Which color wire would that be? Is this only when converting from 1.1 like the OP's 87?

I'm running an 86 so I'm on mototronic 1.0 (has round style c101) not 1.1.
