stupid..stupid..stupid... I am losing interest in this dumb build

    B25 turbo.

Was running to 1000x more issues then I have expected. I was pissed and took the car for a rip. On the way back, the car was a little below op temp and the coolant resovoir looked like it popped and shot coolant all over my drivers side compartment.

The car started smoking like crazy, I feel its because there was coolant everywhere burning up. The car is O ringed so I do not believe it was a head gasket, since they are able to hold up to 30+psi with no head gasket blowing, and according to this car I am not hitting boost.

I left the car in disgust. It was stupid but I am getting to the last leg of this build. Any tips on quick check ups? I assume I have to visually inspect the bay in the morning and dump more coolant into the friggin thing.

I'd say walk away from it for a few days (weeks). You'll find the passion for it again with a little time off.

i would but the car is in a location where I need it moved asap. Its just annoying because my current daily is really a pos and is falling apart. Any input on things to check?

head warping is often a problem when a car gets anywhere near overheating (at or slightly before red line).. oring might help the headgasket stay in check, but hopefully you stopped before it got anywhere near, because once the car stops, it actually gets hotter (fan stops, waterpump stops pushing, no frontal airflow), check thermostat, make sure coolant flow is in correct direction, check radiator for blockage etc. just find out why that coolant blew open.

as long as it wasnt near the danger zone, everything should be fine. turbo tends to heat things rather quickly, check to make sure none of your hoses melted, and overflow tank wasnt cracked or anything.

"smoking everywhere" symptom was just coolant steam probably boiling off the hot exhaust, not really a big deal. actual smokey smoke from things burning, running rich, or steam from exhaust(bad headgasket) are when you should be really concerned.

I hear ya. I will probably double check the tstat. The rad is new, and hoses were all reused from a previous daily. Hoses should all be in correct placing and such, from what I remember, but will double check that aswell.
