    oil cooler on all m20?

I noticed on bmwfans that there s a hollow bolt available that goes where the oil cooler lines bolt in. Just wondering if all m20s had oil coolers.

Nope, not all M20 engined cars had an oil cooler.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

In most cases one will not run into oil temperature issues w/o an oil cooler. I've run my Spec E30 (which has data logging) with and without an oil cooler (bigger than stock and in a better location) and haven't seen excessive oil temperatures. What I have seen is a rise in engine temperature and lower hot idle oil pressures.

The most common failures in cars equipped with oil coolers are leaks in the hoses. The economical fix for that is to have the hoses rebuilt at a shop that does hydraulic hoses.
