    Hello all no power to coil

    Hello everyone new to the forum i just got a 86 325es from a friend of mine who passed away and im trying to restore it my problem is ive got no power to the coil ecu has power changed the cps and a new wiring harness since the original went up in flames not sure what else to do i checked the c200 and i have no power also there is a fuseable link next to the fuse box has a green and red wire coming into it with two old 25amp fuses if i jump those wires i get power to the coil but obviously the gauges and everything stay on when i jump it i also checked the resistance and its in spec also at the harness the wire coming off the idle module conects to what im kinda at a my end here i have no clue how to fix it sorry for the long post but i have no clue what to do and this car is very important to me thanks again for any help

      Are you checking for coil power from the coil positive to chassis ground? Coil power comes from the ignition switch via C101. If the car has the 13 OBC the code relay is between the ignition switch and C101. If an aftermarket alarm has been installed it will usually be between the switch and C101.
      The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
