    M20 removal questions

I'm getting ready to yank my m20 and trans together and I just recently heard of removing the motor with the subframe I was wondering how plausible this is without using a car lift? I'm looking for the quickest route, and I'll be doing this in my garage with a jack and jack stands.

I am pretty sure youd have to drop the engine with the subframe connected, as I cannot see how youd get it past the frame rails.

Why don't you just pull the engine/trans then remove the subframe? It shouldnt take too long with a 1/2 impact to get that bitch off

If you have a lift, it is pretty easy to drop the engine/transmission/subframe out the bottom. But you won't be able to do that without a lift. With the car on jack stands, an engine hoist and load leveler makes it pretty easy to pull the engine & transmission as a unit.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Oh...there are homemade setups, but I am not sure if you want to follow them. There is one guy who lifts the entire front end up to the ceiling and pull the engine out from underneath.

it only takes 3.5 hours to pull an m20+trans with a crane.
you can do it with straps around the motor mounts or you can use the correct lift points. one on back intake side of block and one at front of head.
            Much wow
