    my 86 eta formula

ok i have had my 86 eta for a bit now and im wanting to do some standard eta mods. i have done alot of research and i think i have come up with somthing but i would like some input.
first is a turner chip,im ordering that tomorrow, everyone says its the best bang for the buck and i can see why that would be. not cause i think it will give me 24hp like they say,but i like the fact that the stair step power goes away and suppose to make more even power up to around 5100. mine falls of around 4.
seccond is i have read that a 323 head on eta bottom end with a 272 gives favorable results, but i have yet to find a clear answer on that.
and third i want to do the 1.3 upgrade witch i have read at length about.
i know that the chip will no longer be usable with the 1.3 upgrade, but that will be in the future, prolly about a year from now. i feel like 200$ for that amount of time is a good investment.
but can i use the chip with the 232 head? and what will the chip do if i add a 272 cam? i know they say you should have a chip for your engine set-up...and yes i know that would be optimal, but wouldnt it still run well if not being 100% ideal?
other than that,im going H&R sports and springs, urithane subframe bushings. and some nice pads. this is a daily car and i know im not going to be blowing the doors off of STi's. i just want it to skoot along.

I too am considering putting the i parts in my car and doing the 885 head but so far all I've done with mine is a chip/maintenance parts and suspension. Doing these things will make the car fun everyday of the week.

I went with the 323i head on my '87e. I like the way it turned out. The chip will be useless when you step up to the 1.3 upgrade, so get a less expensive version for the same results. My e ran great with a chip from squidmaster, and it runs even better with the 2.7i chip from him also. I can beat an STI...

Which head gasket did you use Gary? 323i or 325e?

Find a low gear limited slip like 3.25 that'll give it some pep!
