Low idles

My friend just installed a turner Motorsport chip in his 84 325e with a 87 325e ecu three months ago, now he's either getting low rpms while sitting still or his car just shuts off on a stop. What is wrong?

Starts up and dies. Changed back to a 84 ecu, still the same

Have a shop run a smoke test to look for intake leaks.

The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
