    Brake booster check valve

Is this an original piece on our 86 eta motor in the brake booster vacuum line? It looks like a check valve. It's old and has original clamps.

But when I look for parts, the check valve is the 90 degree fitting at the brake booster itself. Like this, with seal...

Can I take it out? I'm trying to eliminate vacuum leaks and replace all hoses.

    Thanks -

    Bump..

Has anyone seen this in-line valve? I'd like to replace with a one-piece hose.

I don't know what this #13 vacuum tree-looking thing is in the realoem diagram. Nothing like that on our engine. But that's where the in-line check valve looking piece is in our hose. There wouldn't be 2 check valves in the hose, would there? Makes no sense.

I just ordered the 90 degree check valve and gasket from Blunt.

If you take it out you will not have any residual vacuum for power brakes when the engine is off.
So if you can live with that...

No, I'd have the 90 degree check valve fitting at the booster itself. Just arrived from Blunttech - their OEM description calls it a check valve.

When I pull the old hoses off I'll see - maybe it has two check valves now...and why..?

OK, just so there's a conclusion to this question, here are the old and new parts...

Old hose on the left has what looks like an in-line check valve with OEM clamps. The fitting at the booster is just an elbow.

The new part from Blunt is a check valve in the 90 degree fitting, plus new grommet.

That old vac hose was hard as a rock, and just broke apart when we bent it.
