My 325is starting making this very loud screeching sound on a few hundred mile drive a few days ago. I have not heard it again since, but I did some research and evidently it is my fuel pump going bad? Do any of you guys have any idea how long I have until the fuel pump fails? Can I make it the few hundred miles back home? please help

There is a test in the bentley to see if the pump is drawing too much current (i.e. struggling to run)
It is your call to drive or not...but if you do then the theory around here is that running your pump with the fuel level too low accelerates pump failure. So keep the fuel tank full as possible for the trip.
