Just as the title says. I am thinking about replacing my fan clutch that is crap and putting in a low profile 2360 CFM spal fan. Anyone ever done this? How did it work? I searched and couldn't find anything.
has anyone replaced a bad fan clutch with a spal fan?

Sure, tons of people switch to an electric fan.
Honestly though you should just but a new fan clutch ($60) and keep things simple. -
This can be done and we do it on race cars all the time. It is way more expensive than a new fan clutch and much noisier. If you use a puller fan the big challenge is coming up with a way to mount the fan. Through the radiator mounts are a really bad idea as they can eat holes in the fin tubes. The mount is easier to make if A/C has been deleted and you use a pusher fan, in which case you also need to fab up a shroud. The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

It ain't pretty, but it works. I did this for a pusher and puller. Here's a picture of the pusher:
