Difference in alternators?

Quick question, is there a difference in M20B25 alternators? I want to pull one from the junkyard or a r3v member so i don't have to buy a brand new one just yet. I can get one for $45 from a junkyard friday so I need to know if I can't put it on my 91 325i.

The terminals are different on some, some have post for ground some have a wire clip. I just made an adapter.
