    early model fuel absorber

    It is part number 17. Can someone explain to me what this does because mine rusted away and I just replaced it with a rubber fuel line. I'm not trying to spend 80 $ on one either.

    Is it necessary?

      It is a pressure vibration absorber and is not necessary.
      The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
