    problem removing M20 head

    Hey,

So it appears the head bolts are original;a friend is trying to remove the head and a couple came out easy. one bolt snapped at the thread but the rest simply won't budge. Using a 1/2" impact gun. that's rated @ 550lbs @ 120psi no go. used a breaker bar and it was starting to bend. 5 of the 14 are out.

I personally have never encountered anything like this in my days of doing head gaskets with M20's.

Would anyone have any idea as to what could possibly be wrong or what to do to get the rest off?

What kind of breaker bar are you using....? Plus using an impact gun on the head bolts is not good, cus if you loosen up certain ones to fast you could warp the head. Then you'll never get the rest out because your basically pinching the bolts with the head.
