Cylinder head Decking and Pressure Check?

ETA Cylinder head. Questions? Are M20 Cylinder heads able to be decked with the Cam in the head or does the Cam have to be removed to allow for the proper milling clearence? ie do the valves obstruct the milling operation? Is it possible to position the Cam so that the Cam dosn't have to be removed? If the head is decked to .012 max depth then the .03mm gasket required? Anyway to tell if the head had been decked with diy tools? (Digital Caliper). Indentations on cylinder head face at the corners or the /0 marking? Do most machine shops mark a cylinder head with a indicator of reduction from stock measurement or how much it was milled to achieve a flat deck?

The cam will have to be removed to deck the head. I think there is a spec in the Bentley (I know there is in the TIS) for the stock head thickness.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Thank you Jim. Appreciate your help. Pulled the head from the new purchase. Had a history of overheating. Radiator plugged, cam timming off one tooth, heater core bypassed, and w/p dripping. The car has the stamped intermediate and cam pullys. They look a little weak. I see that bmw has a new style. Are these a smart update?

Replace the stamped cam sprocket with the cast one. The stamped sprockets are known to fail.
