    what could cause this leak

i did my clutch recently, the back of the head and black where covered with oil seapage, sense it went to the top i can assum it cam from one of the following....

    valve cover gasket?

    rocker shaft rubber grommits?

but is there a real cam seal or anything that could cause the leak?

No cam seal on the back. Best way to determine is to clean it up then monitor it to see where it starts. The head can also leak oil, but most likely one of the pieces you mentioned.

:ot: Are you the guy from Wood River with the turbo setup? If so, I still want to see it! :)

well im gonna replace everything and see if i get lucky, i put dye in the oil, last week i replaced the rear main seal, main seal bracket gasket, oil pan gasket, clean the back of the engine, resurface the flywheel and new flywheel new bolts, a new stage 4 race clutch with new clutch bolts, tranny input and output seals,, new slave cylinder, new throw out bearing, new valve cover, rocker rod rubber grommets, new solid motor mounts, put a seal kit it in the oil filter housing, new seals in the 3.73 diff, also did a diff cover gasket, and gonna do the drive shaft u joints next week

so just hoping no more leaks in the back of the motor, if there is leaks i'll track it with the dye, thanks

The head gasket can also leak oil.

The u joints on the e30 drive shaft are not servicable. You can replace the guibo and the center support (carrier) bearing, but not the u joints. At least not easily.

its turbo charged, has the cosmetic headgasket and arp head studs, and the leak was coming from the top of the motor
