    M20: New Head/30# Injectors: Won't start

    'Evening Gents,

My first e30: 1990 325is that I'm building up to put on a turbo. I'm pretty new to fuel injection so any and all constructive advice is welcome.

Having trouble getting it to start after tearing it apart. Here is a list of the relevant things that I've done to it.

All new engine seals top and bottom.
Cometic .098" MLS head gasket. ARP head studs
    New water pump/thermostat/timing belt/tensioner.
    8mm plug wires
30# high impedence injectors from VAC
Myster-E/Bimmerheads ported and polished head with their "turbo" cam.
    New O2 sensor
    New spark plugs

Everything else related to spark/fuel/air is stock for right now. The car was running on a knock-off Dinan chip that I replaced with a stock one.

When I turn it over it begins to start and has a rough idle for about 4 seconds and then cuts out. When I continue to crank it, it just floods. All the plugs are getting good spark, and all the injectors are firing.

I have a few ideas on what the issue could be, but figured I'd ask some guys that have waaay more experience with these cars than I do first.

    Thanks in advance!

30 lb injectors? No wonder your engine is flooded with fuel. Anything above 19 lb requires proper chip and tuning for the engine to run right.

      Thanks,

That's what I was figuring. I was just hoping that it would at least run long enough to get it over to my buddy's shop so they could tune it. Looks like I may have to throw the old ones back in first...

Yeah it's not going to run those injectors on a stock computer.

Until it's boosted I'd recommend putting some M50 injectors in there.
