Hey guys I'm young and have a 1986 325es e30 for about a year now.. It has about 236k miles on it eventually I want to swap it probably just to a 325i motor because I figure its relatively easy compared to swapping to something that wasn't made for a e30.. I was just wondering does a 2.5l swap in easy or am I going to have to deal with some converting and a lot of money spending? Just looking for some insight about motor swapping e30's thanks !
Swapping too 2.5L from 2.7l

Yes it's more or less a direct swap.
For the wiring to be 100% plug and play you'll need a 87 325i/is/ic engine harness. -
And the only things are. Coolant hoses, ecu, and 3 wires that you have to splice into. I actually had to mess with my in tank fuel pump wires to get both the inner, and outer fuel pumps to turn on since the late model I only has one pump as far as I know.Comment
