I have been searching the differences between the AMC head and the 885 bmw cast head.
Some say the AMC head is rubbish and has inferior air flow yet some say the AMC head is spanish made and refer to it as a superior casting which has more meat and is thicker.
I have an AMC head, I also see some AMC heads have an 885 casting, how do I tell if my AMC head has an 885 casting?
Are the heads interchangeable or can you only change to an 885 head if your AMC head is an 885 casting e.g.. they also made 731 cast AMC heads?
I may or may not turbo charge the car one day, is it silly to consider welding the water ports and / or putting o-rings while I have the head off even if the car stays NA, i.e can doing this have any adverse affects to an NA engine or would it be viewed as more reliable and over engineering.
Thanks in advance
