    Need directions

    hello everyone new to the forum but have owned bmw a couples years and been part of other forums. so here is what I want to do I have 2 motors one is a m20b25 from a 91 and the other is a m20b27 from a 85 eta. want to build a stroker to get my horsepower around 185hp to 195hp and torque at 205tq to 210tq. could some one be of assistance

    The best way to achieve the power your looking for would be to put the cyl head from the m20b25 on the m20b27 engine block and turbo it.

      Thank you. Would you happen to know how much psi the stock internals will hold up to. And where would. i be able to find a turbo header or a reputable place for one

        M20 internals can easily handle 10-12psi. Things start breaking and getting hard to manage the mixtures past that. 666 fab manifolds or TCD log are solid. The eBay ones are cheap and can be ok if reinforced and modded a bit...

          So since im doing this what would be more efficent a standalone fuel system or get a tuneable ecu to put in place ?

            The success of a turbo will be mostly driven by the ECU used and how well it is tuned, which is why there is so much price difference by fleebay kits and the real stuff. As DIY kit, a MegaSquirt and a bunch of dyno time with a pro tuner will get the job done.
