It isn't hard to figure out. Price out the parts (gasket set, rings, bearings, rod & head bolts, etc) and add in the cost of having the block honed. Then allow for things you forgot and things that you won't know will be needed until the engine is torn down and the parts inspected.

thanks man, so pretty much everything i figured, i didn't know if there were any hidden cost. Now can i buy bearings by the actual size i need, or do i have to do it by the bmw color? From what i have been told they have a color code for size?

You tear down the engine and get the crank out. It may need to be polished. Then you measure the journals for diameter and out of round (to 0.0001"). If within tolerance you pick bearings by "color" to wind up with the correct clearance. Main bearings come in four colors and rod bearings in two colors. If you are lucky one "color" of main and one of rod bearings will work. But you may need bearings from more than one color to have all journals with the right clearance.

The block definitely needs to be cross hatch honed if the bores are within tolerance for the rings to seat. Don't hot tank the block as that will destroy the intermediate shaft bearing, if it is still good. The intermediate shaft bearings can be replaced, but that is a machine shop operation. Worn intermediate shaft bearings will kill oil pressure.
