    Question about SuperEta engine...

I was talking to a friend today, and he told me that the SuperEta's, and most other eta's, have one less piston ring, than the IS engine.

Can anyone tell me whether or not this is true?

Would this affect a stroker? Could I add that extra ring to my SuperEta pistons, or is it unneeded?

same part number for both 88e and 88i

I dont know how you could even get away with only 1 compression ring.

So the 88e and 88i use the same set of pistons rings?

Also - I was told that one less piston ring meant 3 in the Eta dn 4 in the I? Maybe I'm wrong?

Everything I've taken apart is 2 compression rings and one oil ring. Perhaps they are thinking of the oil ring as it has two really thin rings. I wouldnt even worry about it.

That's what the mechanic said that I spoke to yesterday. He said not to worry about it.

          So, I don't think I will. ;)
