    Non starting issue

So long story straight I was at work and this girl asked me if I could jump her car .. so of course I jumped her car. But when she tried to start her car it just killed my car. I haven't been able to get it started since. I don't get any spark what so ever. My interior lights/cluster/headlights and radio all work fine. I have no idea what it could be.. By the way it's a '88 325 and I've had it for about two weeks. It's got high mileage but it runs like a champ

I was thinking maybe the ignition coil?

I also read about the in-line fuse from the battery cable in the trunk but I was wondering if there was a place I could test with my multimeter to find out if the fuse is bad? I just don't want to cut into the wire and check the fuse and not be absolutely sure that was the problem

    Any other ideas?

Disconnect the small wire from the power point in the engine bay and see it the wire has battery voltage.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

okay will do I'll give an update after the Hawks game is over. I'll check the power point there and I'll check the relays and coil.. Hopefully that takes care of it or I will be trailering it home

Is there any chance she will go out with you, is she hot, or are you just a nice guy? She at least owes you a beer.

Man I would've asked but she was just not my type at all. I told my roomate who drove my SUV to where all of this went down to get her number as I knew she was his type, but he wussed out.

Sooo.. I had my dad check to see if the small cable had voltage, as much as I trust him with what he tested I'll probably just do it again tomorrow as we found nothing today. He tested the small cable and said it had voltage.

I tested the coil and it has +/- 12v with the key turned on. So I tested the main relay and turns out good as well. I pulled the wire that leads from the coil to the distributor and tested spark again since the coil seemed fine. But no spark. Any ideas? When I re test the small wire from the power point if there is no power I would be most likely looking at the in-line fuse in the small cable leading from my battery in the trunk?

So I get power to the power point in the engine bay, so I'm going to be taking a look at the distributor cap and rotor tomorrow as I believe the rotor is possibly cracked.. Hopefully this solves the but I'll just be throwing new parts at my car for a while to update all the old 25 year old parts that should've been replaced by now anyways
