    Engine Bay CleanUp Questions.

So I have my car away for winter and am doing some maintenance as well as new front suspension, and while its apart in the garage with winter here I figured I'd get as much done as I can, so the next thing I was thinking about doing was cleaning up the engine bay.

When I mean clean up, I do not mean shave, as the engine will stay in the bay, but I am trying to get rid of as much of the useless (well to me atleast) things in the engine compartment.

The battery is already in the trunk, and I will most likely be keeping the fusebox in the engine compartment, unless anyone has any good ideas where to put it.

As of now I havent done anything at all to the bay, but here are the plans for what I will be getting rid of:
    -Windshield washer reservoir
-Power Steering fluid reservoir (and PS delete)

So, after that I should have my brake fluid reservoir and coolant reservoir. Is there anything else that I can remove that would be unnecessary? Just trying to clean up the bay a bit, nothing too crazy for now, but I will take any suggestions.

I have searched for both write ups and pictures, and havent been able to come up with much as far as clean M20 engine bays, so any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

You can put an M42 radiator in to get rid of the separate coolant tank. M42 is built into the radiator. If you don't have a late model though, you will have to convert to the late model water pump as the outlets on the radiator won't line up.

Remove cruise control actuator if you don't want cruise control.

Remove ABS pump if you want to run no ABS.

Run the wiring harness inside the fender instead of in the engine bay.

I have an early model, so for now I will most likely keep with my radiator.

I do not have cruise control.

Could you elaborate on the ABS pump removal, or if you know of a DIY that would be helpful because I have searched.

Also, when you are talking about the wiring harness, what exactly are you talking about? I havent been under the hood a whole lot, and havent even seen the car in a few weeks. Sorry if thats a dumb question

Deleting the ABS unit means disabling ABS, which is a really bad idea. ABS can mean the difference in driving the car home and watching it move to a salvage yard on a flat bed.

The max gain from "cleaning the engine bay" results from deletion of the motor and everything that it depends on.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
