Weird Shifting (engine check light comes on)

So I noticed this when trying out what the car can really do. I was flooring it on the freeway and from what I understand, the auto has 4 gears, so I'm assuming that from 3rd to 4th, this shifting issue occurs.

The car had a tranny swap, auto to auto (I didn't do that... I know. lol) it was done by a shop. 5k miles + or - difference from old to new tranny.

does anyone know what could cause it. Here's what it kind of looks like:

Pretty much the car jerks back and forth struggling to get into the next gear and it feels like the car is going to just getting ready for a ridiculous boost. I must have a vtec in there that I don't know about ;)
The engine light turns on during the jerking motion. Also, that check light is blinking (yellow one)... is that an engine check light too? Why are there two of them?

Anyways.. any ideas? I don't know much about cars and I don't want to learn on a non-working engine.

Bad cps, cps wiring or dme is loosing power or ground or engine wiring harness issue. The tach flipping out is a dead give away that dme is losing timing data.

I'm on my phone so typing is hard but they're are numerous threads on this issue (one I had a while back too, though mine turned out to be bad corrosion on the c101 connector)

Start at the cps and work your way back. Typically it's a issue here as they wear due to age. If getting a replacement make sure you get a oem dealer part. Aftermarket are junk.

Awesome, thanks. I'll start checking those out. Will probably be a while before an update though :/. No moneys.

CPS is the crank position sensor?

      Thanks, again.
